Celebrating 40 Years!
Since its inception in 1984, the Humanities Seminars Program at the University of Arizona has offered diverse not-for-credit courses for lifelong learners. This program supports the University’s mission to expand human potential and enrich lives through continuous learning.
We believe that education is a lifelong journey that enhances lives and broadens perspectives. Our selection of seminars aims to stimulate intellect, ignite curiosity, and empower individuals to discover more about the world and themselves. Participating in an HSP course means joining a vibrant community of curious minds, where faculty and students engage in shared experiences and constructive discussions. Led by distinguished University faculty, our seminars cover a wide range of subjects, including science, literature, and history, providing deep insights and knowledge.
The HSP experience prioritizes enjoyment over traditional academic pressures, eliminating tests and grades while ensuring a supportive environment. We utilize accessible remote learning platforms and students may participate in classes online or on campus for an exceptional learning experience which meets you where you are.
Join us to celebrate the joy of learning and embrace the journey of lifelong exploration with curiosity as your guide.
Assuring the Future of the Humanities Seminars Program
Those who treasure the Humanities Seminars have the opportunity to make sure this premier University of Arizona adult education program can continue providing quality courses to our community for many years to come by making a gift or contributing to the HSP Operating Fund or Friends of HSP Endowment.
One of the program’s strengths has always been that the Humanities Seminars Program has been able to present outstanding classes on topics that would be of interest to 85 participants and classes that might appeal to 25. In order to maintain this excellence and variety, there is a need to reach out to the community of lifelong learners for long-term support.
