PATRICK BALIANI is an Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at the UA Honors College and an award winning playwright. His works have been produced throughout the country, most notably at The Rogue Theatre in Tucson, where his translations and adaptations of Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author, Boccaccio’s The Decameron, and Dante’s Purgatorio have been produced. He is the recipient of the National Repertory Theatre Foundation National Play Award for his original play, A Namib Spring, and the Arizona Theatre Company Genesis Award for his first play, Figs and Red Wine. His teaching awards include the Honors College Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Academic Preparation for Excellence APEX Award, the Humanities Seminars Superior Teaching Award, the 2014 Honors College Five Star Faculty Award, and the 2015 University of Arizona Foundation Leicester and Kathryn Sherrill Award.
