MALCOLM ALAN COMPITELLO is Professor Emeritus of Spanish. He served as Head of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese for twenty-three years and led the Humanities Seminars Program for eleven. His teaching and research focus on Hispanic literature and cultural studies. He is Executive Editor Emeritus of the Arizona Journal of Hispanic Cultural Studies, which he founded in 1995, and his work has been published widely in the United States and Europe.
